ATOL is financial protection for qualifying flight-inclusive bookings. It is run by the UK Civil Aviation Authority and is designed to protect customers if the ATOL holder responsible for the protected booking stops trading. ATOL is not travel insurance and it does not cover every travel service or every reason a holiday cannot go ahead.

All the flights and flight-inclusive holidays on this website are financially protected by the ATOL scheme. When you pay you will be supplied with an ATOL Certificate. Please ask for it and check to ensure that everything you booked (flights, hotels and other services) is listed on it. Your ATOL Certificate is the proof

When you pay towards an ATOL-protected booking, you should receive an ATOL Certificate. Read it immediately. It tells you who and what is protected, the name and ATOL number of the business providing that protection, and what to do if the ATOL holder fails.

• Check that the passenger and trip details match your booking.

• Check that every service you expect to be protected is listed.

• Keep the unique reference number and take a digital or paper copy when you travel.

• Ask for a corrected or replacement certificate if the booking changes or any detail is wrong.

What ATOL does not do

ATOL does not replace insurance and is not a general complaints or cancellation scheme. It does not normally cover illness, injury, dissatisfaction with the holiday or a decision to cancel. Those matters are governed by the booking terms, supplier responsibilities, consumer law and any applicable insurance policy.

Important Notice

Protection depends on the certificate. If you do not receive an ATOL Certificate, the booking is not ATOL protected. If a service is not listed on the certificate, do not assume that service is protected. Barrhead Travel holds ATOL 5346, but another supplier’s ATOL may apply to an agency booking; the certificate is the source to follow.
