From first conversation until after you return home

Tell me what matters to you. This can be as simple as a rough ideas and a general date range, or something specific that you've always wanted to do. I'll ask you plenty of questions to get right to the heart of why this trip is important to you, and how it should look to you. You're under no obligations to book anything if you get in touch for a chat.

I’ll shape the holiday for you. I’ll use your travel wishes to research suitable routes, hotels and experiences through Barrhead Travel’s extensive supplier network. Once I have the right fit, I'll prepare a competitive quote with no extra fees for my services.

Review the written quotation. Let me know what you think of the itinerary and if you would like to make any changes to it. I'll always let you know why I've done things in a certain way, but it's your holiday, so it's important that you're completely happy with your travel plans.

Check the details and pay a secure deposit. All the important details like names as per passports, dates of birth and travel destinations should be checked by you. The lead passenger must also read the Barrhead Travel booking terms, supplier conditions and pre-booking information, and accept them for everyone named. They must be at least 18 and a UK resident.

We'll confirm the booking and issue an ATOL certificate if applicable. A booking becomes binding as described in the applicable terms, depending on whether it is a package or agency booking, once everything has been confirmed in writing by us to you. There is no general cooling-off period, and changes or cancellations can carry charges.

Check every document. Read the confirmation and, where applicable, the ATOL Certificate immediately. Report any errors, including any difference between a passenger name and their passport at the time of travel. This is especially important for honeymooners who may change their names before their passports.

Prepare for travel. Pay the balance, obtain adequate insurance, check each traveller’s requirements and recheck official advice shortly before departure.

Use the support details while away. I'll be available via WhatsApp throughout your holiday. There may also be local contacts in your travel documents which should be followed. In the unlikely event that any hiccups happen, 24/7 support is available via myself and Barrhead Travel for prompt assistance right when it's needed.
