Support While You’re Away

The quickest route to help depends on what has happened. Your travel documents contain the contact details for the suppliers responsible for your arrangements and the emergency support available through Barrhead Travel. Keep a digital and offline copy with you, together with your insurance policy number and emergency-assistance number.

Who to contact first

  • Immediate danger or a serious medical emergency. Call the local emergency services. Contact your insurer’s emergency-assistance team as soon as you can if medical treatment, hospital admission or repatriation may be needed.

  • A problem with a hotel, transfer, tour or cruise. Tell the local representative or supplier immediately and follow the reporting process in your travel documents. Contact me or the Barrhead Travel support number as well, particularly if the supplier cannot resolve it.

  • A delayed, cancelled or missed journey. Speak to the carrier or transport supplier and contact the assistance number on your documents. Keep written notices and receipts. Before paying for substantial alternatives, ask the organiser, supplier or insurer what is authorised unless an immediate decision is necessary for your safety.

  • Lost or stolen money, documents or belongings. Report the incident as required by the local authorities and insurer. If a British passport is lost, stolen or unusable, use the official UK process for cancelling it and applying for an emergency travel document where eligible.

  • A wider crisis or a need for consular help. Follow the FCDO country advice. British nationals can contact the nearest British embassy, high commission or consulate, or the FCDO’s 24-hour consular service.

How I can help

I can help connect the information, contact the relevant Barrhead Travel team or supplier and explain the booking documents you have been given. I cannot replace local emergency services, your insurer, a doctor, a lawyer, a border authority or a consular service, and I cannot guarantee the decision of another organisation.

My normal contact details are: 0131 563 9064, 07488 325692 or natalie.dent@brillianttravel.co.uk

Urgent out-of-hours support: Please use the 24-hour support line shown on your Barrhead Travel Documents
